Chris is a Software Engineering graduate from New Zealand who lives in the beautiful city of Sheffield, England. He is a keen advocate of open source software. He installed Linux for the first time in 2005 and never looked back. His operating system of choice is the supremely sublime Fedora.
Chris currently works on OpenStack running on high performance computing (HPC). HPC is also known as supercomputing which is really just a way of running tomorrow’s computers today. Movement is good and to that end he enjoys travelling, sailing and mountain-biking when time and finances conspire to make this possible. He keeps bees on his allotment and produces award-winning honey. His blog is (mostly) written from a laptop powered by wind. Having spent time living and working in Africa he is a big fan of Fairtrade products.
He lives with his wife, Laura, who tolerates the bees and computers and enjoys the rest. They have a springer spaniel called Maggie who enjoys everything.
Chris is 39.
